Lavonous Byars is a contemporary visual artist based in Smyrna, Tennessee, recognized for his vibrant acrylic abstracts and cosmic-inspired spray paintings. Originally from Decatur, Illinois, Byars discovered his passion for art at a young age, drawing early inspiration from the late Bob Ross. What began as a childhood fascination grew into a lifelong pursuit of creativity and expression.

Over the years, Byars’ passion for art developed into a calling—one rooted in the belief that art has the power to uplift, connect, and inspire. Dedicated to serving his community, he has become an active presence in the Middle Tennessee art scene, where his work has been showcased in exhibitions such as the Boro Art Crawl, multiple Murfreesboro shows, and most recently, a February 2024 feature at Trellis & Vine in Smyrna, where he presented a collection of acrylic works.

Beyond exhibitions, Byars has contributed his talent to large-scale public projects, collaborating with local artists on mural installations in 2021 and 2022. His growing reputation has also led to frequent commissions from private clients, who seek his ability to bring personalized visions to life.

Professionally, Byars has been developing his craft for nearly a decade, specializing in acrylic painting, spray paint, and mixed media.
